About The Position

ERM is seeking an Environment Management Consultant to join their Mining team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of challenging projects for clients across a range of industry sectors, primarily focused on the mining / metals supply chain. The role emphasizes successful project delivery across the mining sector, ensuring high-quality results. Additionally, the position involves commercial development activities and assisting with business proposals to support ERM’s growth. Over time, there will be increasing responsibility for managing tasks, teams, proposals, projects, and clients. This is a career opportunity with potential for progression, working with management consulting and technical expert teams. The individual can be based in ERM's Elko, Salt Lake City, Scottsdale, or Denver office, though location is flexible. The work involves supporting local, national, and international clients and requires periodic travel for internal meetings, project work, and client engagements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering program or equivalent.
  • Professional experience in the Mining industry.
  • 6+ years of professional experience relevant to the responsibilities described above.
  • Experience working in the mining/metals field, site experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience creating clear deliverables for audiences ranging from corporate executives to plant-level operators.
  • Strong MS Office computer skills, with an advanced understanding of PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting tight deadlines, and traveling to clients as needed.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with regulatory applications for mining and/or mine closure preferred.
  • Experience with Mine Closure activities and/or mine site water management.
  • Fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Understanding of Responsible Mining Standards and associated frameworks, including IRMA, TSM, ASI, Copper Mark, RMI, ICMM, Responsible Steel, and others.
  • Experience working at mine sites preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Project Manager for various projects across multiple industries, with a focus on mining.
  • Support mining projects throughout their entire lifecycle, including activities such as project permitting, conducting regulatory audits, facilitating environmental compliance, assisting with operational best practices, drafting closure plans, overseeing sampling and field work campaigns and contributing to project assessments and reviews.
  • Structure and guide work processes to design, implement and improve programs, policies, standards, with support from ERM subject matter experts
  • Provide support for federal and state permitting activities related to mining projects, including the preparation and coordination of required documentation and compliance materials.
  • Responsible for ensuring project compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Prepare proposals, including development of scopes and cost estimates, and participate in business development with existing clients.
  • Adhere to scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables and timely delivery of reports.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with clients and other ERM employees.
  • Distil and analyze complex data, trends, and concepts into clear and concise takeaways and executive summaries.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Other assigned duties as required.
