As a Managing Technical Consultant, Air Quality Dispersion Modeler, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing strategies that help major U.S. industries meet regulatory requirements while advancing sustainability goals. Cleveland, Novi, Cincinnati, Rolling Meadows, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Boston, Hartford, Pittsburgh or Manhattan. What Your Impact Is Serve as a trusted technical leader on high-profile air quality projects. Guide clients through complex compliance landscapes, ensuring regulatory success. Deliver advanced dispersion modeling that informs critical environmental decisions. Mentor junior team members and foster technical excellence. What You’ll Bring Required: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Sciences/Meteorology, or related field (Master’s preferred). 4+ years of consulting experience in air quality or atmospheric science (5–7 years preferred). Expertise in Clean Air Act regulations (Title V, MACT, PSD) and air dispersion modeling requirements. Proficiency with regulatory air quality models (AERMOD, VISCREEN, CALPUFF). Exceptional communication skills for client and agency interactions. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and travel as needed. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Preferred: Advanced degree (MS) in a related discipline. Programming and GIS skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and modeling software. Key Responsibilities Lead air quality dispersion modeling projects using EPA-approved models to assess health and environmental impacts. Develop accurate analyses for Title V, PSD, and New Source Review compliance. Manage emission inventories and calculations for diverse industrial clients. Serve as a technical liaison with state and federal regulators during permit reviews. Deliver high-quality reports and presentations to clients and agencies. Oversee project scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining ERM’s quality standards. Foster strong client relationships and contribute to business growth through technical leadership. For the Managing Technical Consultant, Air Quality, Dispersion Modeler position, the anticipated annual base pay is $95,682–$124,245 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
