About The Position
United Publications is seeking a Managing Editor for the HME News portfolio, a part of VGM Group. HME News provides industry news to the home medical equipment (HME) market through print and eMedia. VGM Group is a 100% employee-owned company offering a dynamic and challenging workplace that supports professional and personal growth.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience writing and reporting in a daily news setting
- A flair for writing and the desire to get the news first
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- A strong work ethic
- Excellent copy-editing skills
- InDesign experience
- A bachelor's degree in journalism, English or a closely related field is required

Responsibilities
- Covering assigned news beats
- Producing stories for weekly email newsletters and monthly print publication / digital edition
- Contributing to social media accounts
- Conducting phone and video interviews
- Occasional webcast and podcast hosting
- Posting stories, web updates, and videos to website
- Managing a revolving group of industry guest writers
- Leading layout of the publication
- Managing story budget
