About The Position

EisnerAmper is seeking a Managing Director to join Sherwood Partners, a restructuring and liquidation firm acquired by EisnerAmper. The role focuses primarily on Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABCs), company wind-downs, liquidating trusts, related distributions, and selected bankruptcy matters. The Managing Director leads engagements from initial engagement through asset liquidation, estate closure, and final distribution, combining hands-on operational decision-making with frequent interaction with venture capital and private equity sponsors, boards, C-level executives, creditors, and equity holders. Sherwood operates within EisnerAmper’s Financial Advisory Services platform. The team handles ABCs, restructuring, and liquidation engagements, and works across several major markets. The role offers senior responsibility, direct client exposure, and involvement in operational decisions, with opportunities to collaborate across service lines and support the growth of Sherwood Partners. The environment suits professionals who are responsive, coachable, comfortable working through complex situations without continuous judicial oversight, and motivated by direct interaction with senior decision-makers.

  • Strong financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis, and financial acumen.
  • Proven ability to communicate credibly and effectively with boards, C-level executives, sponsors, creditors, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage several time-sensitive engagements simultaneously and respond to client needs outside standard business hours, including periodic weekend work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative, personable approach with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships.

  • Advise venture capital and private equity sponsors, investment committees, company boards, and C-level executives on strategic, operational, and financial decisions throughout the wind-down lifecycle.
  • Manage asset sales and liquidations, creditor and equity-holder distributions, and stakeholder communications while navigating complex issues outside formal court supervision.
  • Lead multiple concurrent engagements and coordinate internal and external resources while maintaining urgency, organization, sound judgment, and clear client expectations.
