About The Position

The Corporate Finance team within Canadian Commercial Banking, is part of BMO Financial group and covers both public and large private corporate clients operating in diversified industries. The team is responsible for marketing, managing, and monitoring large commercial loan portfolios, and also supporting credit requirements and cross selling efforts for other businesses including subordinated debt, equipment leasing, derivatives, cash management, and trade finance. The team assesses financing opportunities of $10,000,000 or more, both on a syndicated and bilateral basis. The Managing Director & Team Lead is responsible for leading BMO’s Corporate Finance, Diversified Industries business in Atlantic Canada, providing strategic leadership, client franchise oversight, portfolio management, and risk governance across a complex commercial lending portfolio. Leading a team of experienced corporate finance professionals, the incumbent is accountable for driving business growth, maintaining strong credit and operational discipline, and delivering exceptional client outcomes for large corporate and private companies across the region. The role works closely with internal partners to originate, structure, negotiate, and execute complex financing solutions while identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships through BMO’s broader suite of products and services. As the senior leader of the franchise, the Managing Director & Team Lead is responsible for developing talent, fostering a high-performance culture, and advancing the strategic priorities of the Atlantic Corporate Finance business.

Requirements

10+ years of relevant experience in Relationship Management, Account Management or Portfolio Management in a corporate or similar segmented banking environment with sales metrics is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, CPA certification preferred; Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred.
Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.

Works closely with internal teams and stakeholders to define products, solutions and strategies that best fit clients’ needs.
