About The Position

Delphi Digital is seeking a Managing Director to establish and lead a new advisory practice focused on Stablecoins, Payments, and Fintech within its Research & Consulting division. This role requires a founding partner mentality, with significant ownership over strategy, revenue generation, client delivery, thought leadership, and team development. The practice will leverage Delphi's existing deep expertise in areas such as stablecoins, digital assets, payment infrastructure, and market structure to advise payments companies, fintechs, banks, investors, and other financial institutions navigating the shift towards programmable money and onchain financial infrastructure. The goal is to be an independent, opinionated strategic partner, helping clients discern genuine value from hype, assess opportunities, and make critical decisions regarding build, buy, or partner strategies in the evolving financial landscape.

Requirements

  • Significant experience across one or more of: Payments and fintech, Banking or treasury technology, Financial infrastructure, Stablecoins and digital assets, Enterprise partnerships, Institutional advisory.
  • Demonstrated record of personally originating and closing meaningful institutional business.
  • Active network across payments, fintech, banking, treasury, investment, or strategic advisory.
  • Credible fluency in both traditional payment economics and crypto-native infrastructure.
  • Experience selling complex, consultative engagements to senior decision-makers.
  • Ability to create commercial opportunities without an established playbook.
  • Judgment to explain where stablecoins create real value and where they do not.
  • Ability to turn an ambiguous client question into a scoped and priced engagement.
  • Strong written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
  • Willingness to remain hands-on across selling, delivery, thought leadership, and team building.
  • Comfortable speaking with skeptical CFOs, pressure-testing payment strategies, closing engagements, leading workstreams, and developing market theses.

Nice To Haves

  • Proximity to New York, Miami, or another major financial services and payments hub is helpful but not required for an exceptional candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Build the practice by validating markets, defining service offerings, positioning, pricing, and developing the practice strategy, revenue model, and target-account plan.
  • Originate and close complex advisory engagements by developing senior relationships across payments, fintech, banking, treasury, investment, and corporate strategy.
  • Own the full sales cycle including discovery, qualification, scoping, pricing, proposals, negotiation, and account expansion, converting initial projects into repeat engagements and retained relationships.
  • Build partner-led distribution by developing relationships with investment banks, M&A advisors, PE/VC firms, corporate development teams, consulting firms, and law/accounting firms, positioning Delphi as a specialist partner.
  • Productize Delphi’s expertise into clearly scoped and repeatable offerings such as stablecoin and payments strategy, commercial and market diligence, private research, retained strategic advisory, and executive briefings.
  • Lead initial client delivery engagements, establishing quality standards, ensuring work is decision-oriented and difficult to replicate, and converting early engagements into reusable frameworks and intellectual property.
  • Build authority and the team by working with Delphi Research and Media, publishing differentiated points of view, participating in industry events, and recruiting/developing the delivery team as demand grows.

  • Direct influence over the practice’s strategy and team
  • Highly competitive compensation package
  • Significant performance-linked upside
  • Meaningful long-term incentives
