About The Position

Maryland Public Television (MPT) is seeking a Managing Director of Production Services to direct and oversee high-level business, operational, and financial strategies for production execution. This role is responsible for providing the necessary infrastructure and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. MPT is Maryland's only statewide broadcaster, a PBS member, and a producer of local and national TV programs and digital content, headquartered in Owings Mills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum seven (7) years of executive/operational experience in production.
Proficiency in budgeting, team leadership, and workflow optimization.
Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

Nice To Haves

Experience working for a nonprofit media station.
Experience with videography, studio and field production, and digital media asset management (MAM systems).
Experience with professional non-linear editing (NLE) and post-production systems such as Adobe Premiere, Avid, or Davinci Resolve.

Responsibilities

Allocate studio space, equipment, staff, and freelance talent pools to ensure multiple projects run concurrently and efficiently.
Develop and implement overarching department budgets, forecasting spending, and managing payroll and client billing.
Supervise production crews, technical directors, and production facility managers, and handle contracts.
Design, develop, and maintain standard operating procedures and digital systems to maximize productivity, operational efficiency, output, and quality.
