The Jewish Federation Bay Area is seeking a highly motivated and qualified security individual with a variety of skill sets who wants to join a team working to combat antisemitism, strengthen the Jewish community and build a new model of 21st century and next generation Federation engagement. As the senior decision-maker for all safety and security matters, the Managing Director of Community Security drives the Federation’s strategic direction while remaining personally engaged in field-level oversight. The Managing Director is responsible for supervising the security team (3-5 members), managing the program budget, and overseeing contracted services. By balancing executive-level coordination with practical tasks like training and site assessments, the Director serves as a credible, trusted voice for the community at the local, civic, and national levels. The Managing Director of Community Security oversees the main Federation Bay Area catchment area (San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Peninsula, East Bay) along with serving as the regional security advisor for Jewish Silicon Valley and the Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region. The position works in partnership with other national and regional security agencies including Secure Community Network (SCN), Community Security Initiative (CSI) Los Angeles, FBI, and NCRIC. This is hybrid role, reporting to Chief Strategy and Impact Officer, with 2-3 days in the San Francisco office and required travel that may include extended regional and national coverage with limited advance notice, including after-hours and on-call availability.
