The Managing Director Investment Banking TDS has responsibility to develop and maintain a portfolio of trusted advisor relationships at senior levels (CEO, CFO, Board) that leads mandates and repeat business. This role involves targeting clients and revenue opportunities, striking an appropriate balance between short and long-term revenue priorities. The individual will develop client-relevant transaction ideas by leveraging successful transaction expertise or generating new ideas, and effectively coordinate business origination teams to win lead-managed mandates. This position has primary client coverage responsibility and requires a senior level of product knowledge for a select group of clients in a specific industry or product. The role acts as lead on major deals/transactions with key clients, generating senior-level revenue. It also involves providing leadership and mentorship to the group, ensuring continuous development of industry knowledge and profile, and maintaining awareness of relevant regional activities/issues (e.g., municipal, provincial, economic, political). The Managing Director will set the overall strategy for the industry group, oversee execution on senior deals, and guide and develop more junior colleagues through training, mentorship, guidance, and leadership by example, helping them understand their role in the firm's success. Additionally, the role is responsible for establishing an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank, directing, training, and developing staff to enable them to meet challenges, department objectives, and achieve full potential.
