Managing Consultant - Retail Performance Improvement
About The Position
BRG Retail Performance Improvement practice specializes in providing strategic, operational, and financial advice to private equity firms, management teams, boards of directors, investors, hedge funds, and other lenders in a wide range of complex situations. Comprised of experienced, hands-on professionals that are results-oriented and data-driven, the BRG Retail Performance Improvement practice collaborates with management teams and sponsors to deliver strategic options that maximize value for stakeholders. Furthermore, the practice has deep operational experience to offer interim management to companies in need of C-Suite level experience and targeted surge resources, setting clients up for long-term future success. Requirements
- Experience in a retail, direct to consumer or consumer goods environment and/or previous consulting with similar clients.
- Expertise one or more of the following functions: direct sourcing, product to market, consumer analytics, digital experience, marketing, personalization, digital commerce, back-office operations, distribution and transportation, store and omni operations, indirect procurement.
- Experience with developing and managing financial and operational analysis as well as assisting to implement changes as result of analysis and observations.
- Experience with improving working capital and financial performance utilizing systems, tools, and bridge solutions.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree or MBA a plus
- Additional experience with Access, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, and Python is a plus
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Retail Performance Improvement (RPI) team and client personnel to achieve engagement objectives.
- Utilize business, strategic, and analytical skills to perform tasks such as: financial modeling and analysis; operations and service strategy development, revenue growth; operational process and technology optimization; store labor planning and analysis; organizational design and assortment/inventory performance analysis.
- Manage the junior team on multiple tasks across a consulting engagement including modeling and client presentations.
- Develop content and lead the preparation of high quality, refined reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables.
- Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity.
- Develop and lead innovative retail service offerings that are relevant for our retail and consumer clients.
- Utilize a pragmatic and hands-on approach to the professional services arena.
