About The Position

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Managing Administrative Assistant in the Western Massachusetts Regional Office (WMAS). The WMAS staff handle legal matters from various areas of the AGO, including the Criminal, Energy & Environmental, Government, Health Care & Fair Competition, and Public Protection & Advocacy Bureaus. The WMAS Office also provides on-site assistance to residents with civil rights, consumer, and labor issues, and serves as a regional hub for the implementation of AGO-wide priorities that involve community outreach, education, and policy initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting leadership and coordinating administrative operations.
  • Experience supporting or guiding the work of others.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working with data or tracking systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment or interest in public service.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily administrative operations of the regional office, consistent procedures, and high-quality support across divisions.
  • Provide high-level administrative support to WMAS Office leadership, including managing schedules and coordinating meetings.
  • Guide and support administrative assistants and paralegals, including delegating work and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal teams and external partners, facilitating communication and coordination across the office.
  • Support the planning and execution of office initiatives, events, and community outreach efforts.
  • Manage office processes such as ordering supplies, coordinating reimbursements and travel requests, records management, and general office operations.
  • Maintain and utilize tracking systems or databases to support reporting and operational needs.
  • Perform other duties, as required.
