About The Position

The Manager Workforce Development is responsible for collaborating with multiple departments, teams, and committees at Goodwill Great Lakes to ensure case management and training support with daily activities, special projects, and the pursuit of organizational goals. Implements strategy for Workforce Development at Naval Station Great Lakes. Oversees daily operations, direct staff and ensures implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs. Maintains operating budget and manages expenses. Communicates budgetary performance. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 1-2 years and focuses on the creation of systems, processes and programs.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years' managerial experience or Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 7 years' experience.
  • Ability to communicate using sign language preferred.
  • A REAL ID-compliant driver’s license is required for access to the naval base and for employment. Candidates must provide proof of this identification.

Responsibilities

  • Manages departmental structure, development and training of staff.
  • Actively networks and sources for positions within the team.
  • Plans and manages projects of low to moderate complexity related to departmental function.
  • Manages change with direct reports and participates in the leadership coalition that supports the change.
  • Understands social trends driving Goodwill's community engagement initiatives, and champions initiatives.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments, teams, and committees at Goodwill Great Lakes to ensure case management and training support with daily activities, special projects, and the pursuit of organizational goals.
  • Manages and monitors case load distribution, facility coverage, attendance tracking efforts, corrective action documentation, case noting, program plan completion, and disability related accommodations made by Vocational Case Managers to ensure the highest level of service is provided to program participants, as well as other internal and external customers.
  • Manages, supports, and tracks the Training Coordinator's efforts to recognize training needs and opportunities, and develop relevant content to coordinate and facilitate group downtime trainings, one-on-one trainings, new program participant orientations, and the Team Leadership program.
  • Maintain compliance and coordinate auditing process for NISH Presidents Committee.
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality.
  • Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
