About The Position

We are seeking a highly technical and collaborative Manager, Vehicle Field Quality to lead a defined portfolio of vehicle systems and Field Quality Engineers while advancing shared Vehicle Field Quality priorities across Lucid Air, Lucid Gravity, and future programs. This role strengthens leadership capacity within the Vehicle Field Quality organization and accelerates the detection, investigation, containment, and permanent resolution of vehicle concerns affecting customers in global markets. The successful candidate will combine people leadership, vehicle-level systems expertise, disciplined issue management, data-driven prioritization, and strong cross-functional execution. This leader will balance specialist ownership with whole-vehicle thinking and drive clear accountability across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Service, Diagnostics, Warranty, Product Safety, regional quality teams, and other partners. Success in the first 12 months means improving the speed and rigor of issue detection, containment, root cause confirmation, and corrective-action implementation; reducing repeat repairs, warranty exposure, customer downtime, and recurrence of known failure modes; strengthening ownership and workload balance across the team; improving global execution; and ensuring field lessons are integrated into current and future vehicle programs. What you will find here that you will not find in a comparable role elsewhere is the opportunity to lead whole-vehicle Field Quality execution across highly integrated hardware and software systems while directly influencing customer experience, product reliability, global field actions, and future vehicle development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop an assigned team of Vehicle Field Quality Engineers responsible for customer issue investigations and corrective-action execution.
  • Provide leadership coverage for urgent escalations, operating reviews, team development, hiring, and cross-functional decision-making.
  • Maintain clear accountability across assigned vehicle systems, programs, regions, and critical initiatives while partnering effectively with other Field Quality leaders.
  • Own field-quality performance for an assigned portfolio that may include body and closures, chassis, interiors and seating, exterior systems, low-voltage electrical, infotainment, software-integrated vehicle functions, ADAS interfaces, climate, NVH, or other vehicle-level systems.
  • Ensure clear system ownership, technical depth, and effective backup coverage across the Vehicle Field Quality team.
  • Balance specialist ownership with whole-vehicle thinking to identify interactions across hardware, software, manufacturing, service, and customer-use conditions.
  • Monitor warranty claims, service repairs, repeat repairs, customer complaints, Voice of Customer signals, diagnostic data, telematics, field reports, and quality issue records to identify emerging concerns.
  • Prioritize issues using customer impact, safety or regulatory relevance, frequency, vehicle population exposure, recurrence risk, warranty cost, regional impact, and business risk.
  • Maintain disciplined focus on top customer concerns, emerging issues, high-aging investigations, and concerns requiring leadership escalation.
  • Drive timely problem definition, suspect-population assessment, vehicle inspection, failure reproduction, part collection, teardown, data analysis, and structured root cause investigation.
  • Ensure interim containment protects customers and prevents additional exposure while permanent corrective actions are developed.
  • Confirm root causes and contributing factors through objective evidence, including engineering data, physical analysis, manufacturing history, supplier information, diagnostics, and service findings.
  • Oversee permanent corrective actions across product design, manufacturing processes, supplier controls, software, diagnostics, service procedures, and component specifications.
  • Partner with Service, Campaigns, Parts, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and regional teams on Technical Service Corrections, Technical Service Bulletins, software actions, inspections, parts readiness, and customer-impact mitigation.
  • Validate implementation effectiveness through field monitoring, repeat-repair analysis, warranty trends, and post-action performance.
  • Ensure potential safety, compliance, homologation, stop-sale, recall, or significant customer-risk concerns are escalated through the appropriate governance forums.
  • Prepare clear technical summaries that distinguish confirmed facts, open questions, containment status, decision needs, timing, and residual risk.
  • Support leadership and Product Safety reviews with accurate field evidence and traceable investigation records.
  • Coordinate issue resolution across North America, Europe, KSA, and other markets, recognizing regional customer expectations, operating conditions, service capability, and market-specific requirements.
  • Build effective working relationships with service centers and regional quality teams to improve issue detection, evidence collection, repair feedback, and action implementation.
  • Ensure global concerns have consistent ownership while allowing regional actions where product configuration or market requirements differ.
  • Translate field lessons into design requirements, validation plans, DFMEA and PFMEA updates, manufacturing controls, diagnostic strategies, service procedures, and future program decisions.
  • Support launch and change readiness for new vehicles, model years, software releases, engineering changes, and supplier or manufacturing process changes.
  • Drive prevention by ensuring lessons learned are documented, assigned, implemented, and verified across applicable programs.
  • Lead recurring issue-management reviews for the assigned portfolio with clear ownership, due dates, escalation criteria, and closure evidence.
  • Track KPIs such as R/1000, months-in-service trends, cost per vehicle, repeat repairs, issue aging, containment timing, root-cause timing, corrective-action timing, and field-action effectiveness.
