DP WorldCharlotte, NC

About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Training Manager to lead the development and execution of training programs across our logistics operations. This role will be responsible for enhancing employee capability, onboarding new hires, and driving performance through structured learning initiatives across distributed teams. This role requires extensive travel (up to 50–70%) to various U.S. sites, to support in-person training and team development initiatives. Responsible for establishing, governing, and executing a comprehensive training and competency framework that enables both new site launches and steady-state operations to achieve and sustain operational excellence. This role may be site-based or traveling/launch-focused, depending on business need, and ensures consistent application of DP World’s training standards across locations. The position owns the end-to-end development, standardization, and delivery of training—covering process documentation, instructional design, systems readiness, and trainer capability—to ensure operational processes are effectively taught, embedded, and transitioned to local teams once required competence is demonstrated. Through robust standards, role-based curricula, and a scalable Train-the-Trainer (TTT) model, the Training & Standards Manager ensures audit-ready compliance, high adoption of systems and processes, and long-term site sustainability. The role links training effectiveness to operational KPIs to ensure each site is equipped to operate independently beyond launch or stabilization.

  • Experience partnering with site leadership and functional leads to ensure training aligns with operational requirements and business objectives.
  • Experience leading development and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and job aids for launch and steady-state operations, ensuring clarity, version control, visual management, and exception handling.
  • Experience building and maintaining role-based training matrices for direct and indirect labor, ensuring audit-ready documentation of competency and certification.
  • Experience delivering training directly (classroom, on-the-job, and systems-based) and/or overseeing delivery through certified site trainers.
  • Experience recruiting, certifying, coaching, and evaluating trainers; conducting TTT bootcamps and facilitation practicums.
  • Experience monitoring trainee progress and training effectiveness through assessments, observations, manager feedback, and performance outcomes.
  • Experience evaluating training impact by linking learning outcomes to operational metrics (safety, quality, productivity, SLA adherence).
  • Experience coordinating and delivering systems/WMS training (receiving, putaway, picking, sequencing, inventory control, reporting, etc.).
  • Experience embedding UAT scenarios, simulations, and role-based quick reference guides to drive adoption and data integrity.
  • Experience partnering with Operations Launch Managers/Specialists and IT to align system configuration, test cases, and training environments.
  • Experience supporting site launches through structured training deployment, ramp-up support, and post-launch stabilization.
  • Experience ensuring effective transition of training ownership to site leadership once competency and certification requirements are met.
