About The Position

The Manager Trainee is a full-time, entry-level position that prepares employees for leadership at 84 Lumber through hands-on training in all aspects of store operations. Training includes classroom, online, and practical learning in sales and customer service; store operations and inventory management; blueprint reading and estimation; forklift operation and certification; business management; and Microsoft Office. Trainees must complete the assigned learning plan and course of study within the required timeframe and be willing to relocate for a management position. Promotion may be possible within 6–12 months, depending on performance and position availability. The role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Availability for a full-time schedule of 48 or more hours per week, including overtime.
• Willingness to relocate for a management position.
• Dedication and willingness to learn; no prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Microsoft Office Suite experience.

Responsibilities

• Support customers and drive sales in a retail store environment.
• Learn store operations, inventory management, material and supply chain flow, stock, and merchandising.
• Create material estimates and lists by reading blueprints.
• Learn safe material handling and forklift operation, including certification.
• Work with payroll, invoicing, inventory, POS systems, and financial analysis.
• Respond to common customer inquiries and complaints.
• Complete the assigned learning plan and course of study within the specified timeframe.
