About The Position

Hertz Local Edition (HLE) is hiring a Manager Trainee to support location performance, develop leadership skills, and prepare for promotion to Branch Manager in as little as 12–18 months. The role provides exposure to all aspects of the business in a fast-paced environment. The starting wage is $17.00 per hour.

The Manager Trainee supports sales and customer service, learns fleet logistics and inventory control, assists with store operations and compliance, and helps care for vehicles and facilities. The role also provides experience with finance processes, deal completion, reporting, documentation, and business metrics. The trainee shadows and supports management while developing skills in team leadership, scheduling, and performance coaching, and learns how the role contributes to the company’s financial well-being.

Requirements

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong computer and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to grow.
• Exceptional time management skills.
• Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Presentable attire.
• Experience working in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Support achievement of location sales goals.
• Deliver an excellent customer experience to contribute to high customer service scores.
• Learn and apply sales techniques and CRM best practices.
• Gain hands-on experience in fleet logistics and inventory control.
• Assist with store operations and compliance.
• Help clean and prepare vehicles for customers, manage the lot, and assist with customer service.
• Learn finance processes and support deal completion.
• Understand reporting, documentation, and business metrics.
• Shadow and support management in daily operations.
• Build skills in team leadership, scheduling, and performance coaching.
• Prepare for future leadership roles through structured training.
• Learn how the role contributes to or impacts the company’s overall financial well-being.
