About The Position

Hertz Local Edition (HLE) is hiring a Manager Trainee to support location performance, develop leadership skills, and prepare for promotion to Branch Manager in as little as 12–18 months. The role offers exposure to the business in a fast-paced environment, including sales and customer service, operations and fleet management, vehicle and facility care, finance and administration, and leadership development. The position is located at 665 Metcalf St, Escondido, CA 92025. The hourly wage is $18.00, and the role is eligible for overtime subject to company approval and applicable laws.

Requirements

Must be at least 20 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver's license.
Strong computer and multitasking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to grow.
Exceptional time management skills.
Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Support achievement of location sales goals and help deliver excellent customer experiences.
Learn and apply sales techniques and CRM best practices.
Gain hands-on experience in fleet logistics and inventory control.
Assist with store operations and compliance.
Help clean and prepare vehicles for customers, manage the lot, and provide customer service assistance.
Learn finance processes and support deal completion.
Understand reporting, documentation, and business metrics.
Shadow and support management in daily operations.
Build skills in team leadership, scheduling, and performance coaching.
Complete structured training to prepare for future leadership roles.

Benefits

$18.00 hourly wage.
Eligible for overtime pay, subject to prior approval and applicable laws.
Holiday pay: 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked on a designated holiday, plus 8 hours of holiday pay.
