About The Position

Hertz Local Edition (HLE) is hiring a Manager Trainee to support location performance, develop leadership skills, and prepare for promotion to Branch Manager in as little as 12–18 months. The role provides exposure to all aspects of the rental business in a fast-paced environment. The starting wage is $18.00 per hour.

The Manager Trainee supports sales and customer service, learns fleet logistics and inventory control, assists with store operations and compliance, and helps care for vehicles and facilities. The role also involves learning finance processes, supporting deal completion, understanding reporting and business metrics, and developing leadership skills through shadowing and supporting management. Structured training prepares the trainee for future leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

• Must be 20 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong computer and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to grow.
• Exceptional time management skills.
• Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Presentable attire.
• Experience working in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Support achievement of location sales goals and deliver excellent customer experiences.
• Learn and apply sales techniques and CRM best practices.
• Gain hands-on experience in fleet logistics and inventory control.
• Assist with store operations and compliance.
• Help clean and prepare vehicles, manage the lot, and assist customers.
• Learn finance processes and support deal completion.
• Understand reporting, documentation, business metrics, and how the role affects the company’s financial wellbeing.
• Shadow and support management in daily operations.
• Build skills in team leadership, scheduling, and performance coaching through structured training.
