Health Research, Inc. (HRI) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to building a healthier future for New York State and beyond through its partnership with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). HRI supports public health research and helps translate scientific discoveries into real-world products and technologies by protecting, managing, licensing, and commercializing intellectual property developed through NYSDOH research. HRI is seeking a Manager, Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property to lead technology transfer, licensing, and intellectual property efforts for NYSDOH innovations. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of public health, scientific research, intellectual property, and commercialization while helping bring discoveries from the laboratory to the marketplace. The incumbent will collaborate with researchers, institutional leadership, industry partners, and outside counsel to evaluate inventions, manage intellectual property portfolios, negotiate research and licensing agreements, support commercialization initiatives, and cultivate strategic partnerships. The incumbent will also provide guidance on federal regulations, sponsor requirements, technology transfer best practices, and research agreements to promote compliance and mitigate organizational risk. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in technology transfer, intellectual property, research administration, licensing, commercialization, sponsored research, research contracting, or related fields who are passionate about translating scientific innovation into meaningful public health impact.
