Manager, Technology Strategy
About The Position
We are seeking an energetic and innovative professional to join our Technology Strategy & Planning team, covering the entire Technology organization. The position is highly visible within the organization, as our clients are senior executives throughout the global Technology organization and the team’s leadership directly supports the CTO. Essential Responsibilities: Identify issues and recommend best practices based on specialized expertise. Lead functional projects and programs that contribute to business improvements. Partner with teams to analyze business trends and inform strategic decisions. Facilitate collaboration among team members to enhance project outcomes. Assess and report on the progress of strategic initiatives within the function. Coordinate execution of recommendations with key stakeholders as needed AI-Enabled Development: Rapidly build and prototype enterprise-wide applications and internal tools using AI-assisted coding platforms Research and Analysis: Conduct and/or lead key qualitative (e.g., primary research, synthesis of secondary data sources) and quantitative (e.g., Excel modeling) analysis in support of deliverables Thought Leadership: Support PayPal’s Technology leadership team by developing and articulating PayPal’s position on long-term strategic issues Mentorship and Team Development: Provide coaching and professional mentorship/development to junior team members
Requirements
- 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- World-class strategic and analytical thinking, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize multiple sources of information (quantitative and qualitative) to solve complex problems in a structured, data-driven way
- Leadership experience in, or providing strategic advice to, complex global organizations
- End-to-end management of complex, multi-faceted projects (e.g., scoping, deliverables, team)
- Translation of ambiguous, open-ended problems into practical, actionable solutions
- Superior communication (verbal, prose, PowerPoint) and influencing skills
- Track record of delivering tangible results
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems required
- Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibility over time
Nice To Haves
- MBA or quantitative degree from a top school preferred
- Experience in software development, with financial services (particularly payments) and/or e-commerce experience preferred
