About The Position

Paramount is seeking a Manager, Technical Program Management to drive execution for engineering teams within its applied machine learning organization, supporting personalization and applied ML across Paramount+ and Pluto TV. The role focuses on delivering cross-team programs spanning content data, metadata, and embedding pipelines that feed downstream models, as well as personalization, recommendation, and ranking models built from those pipelines. The manager will bring structure to a fast-moving environment and help deliver the team's roadmap. The position coordinates multi-team technical projects, defines scope and delivery measures, manages dependencies and risks, and communicates plans and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. It requires technical judgment across pipelines, models, and infrastructure, along with the ability to influence stakeholders in a matrixed organization and provide executive-ready status updates.

  • At least 8 years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, or a related role delivering complex, multi-team technical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and using AI to build operational tooling, dashboards, or automation that measurably improves team efficiency.
  • Experience with applied machine learning systems, including model development, personalization, ranking, and recommendation engineering; experience with content or data engineering systems such as large-scale content ingestion, metadata, and embedding pipelines is also acceptable.
  • Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and bring structure to a fast-moving, evolving problem space.

  • Skills in content engineering.
  • Knowledge of emerging practices such as prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration.
  • Technical cloud certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities for multi-team projects, which may cover content and data pipelines, model development, or personalization systems.
  • Define program scope, milestones, OKRs, and success metrics, and report progress against them to senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Apply systems thinking and technical judgment to pipeline, model, and infrastructure tradeoffs, influencing stakeholders across a matrixed organization without formal authority.
  • Track cross-team dependencies and align priorities across technology touchpoints.
  • Identify technical and delivery risks, including data quality issues, model-readiness gaps, and infrastructure-capacity problems, and work with owners to address them.
  • Facilitate root-cause clarity on complex blocking issues, surface tradeoffs, and escalate decisions with clear options and recommendations.
  • Partner with engineering and adjacent product teams to align milestones and ensure delivery.
  • Translate technical tradeoff discussions into clear plans for technical and non-technical audiences.
