Manager, Tax Infrastructure

CoreWeave•Dallas, TX

About The Position

CoreWeave’s Global Tax team is a builder-focused, AI-native team supporting a rapidly expanding infrastructure footprint. The Manager, Tax Infrastructure will manage the tax reporting and compliance obligations associated with CoreWeave’s physical assets, including U.S. property tax, tax fixed-asset data, and equipment exemption positions from purchase order through placed-in-service. The role operates at the intersection of direct and indirect tax and partners closely with Tax Operations, Accounting Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Data Center Construction. It reports to the Sr. Director, Global Tax & Innovation. This is a hands-on role overseeing the U.S. property tax cycle, maintaining tax fixed-asset data used for depreciation and property tax reporting, and serving as the day-to-day contact for outside property tax advisors. The position also supports construction-period tax matters, equipment exemptions, and depreciation inputs used by Direct Tax for tax provisions and returns. As the company’s footprint grows, the role offers a path to owning the function outright.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of progressive tax experience, including in-house or service experience supporting capital-intensive businesses such as data center, cloud, telecommunications, energy, manufacturing, or real estate.
  • Hands-on experience preparing or managing U.S. property tax compliance, including real and personal property filings, assessment review, and accrual support.
  • Direct experience with a tax fixed-asset register, including reconciling asset data, resolving classification and location issues, and producing depreciation reporting.
  • Working knowledge of federal tax depreciation mechanics, including MACRS, bonus depreciation, and placed-in-service determinations.
  • Experience applying sales and use tax to capital equipment, including exemption certificate management and equipment taxability analysis.
  • Experience working directly with Accounting Operations and Supply Chain or Procurement, and the ability to trace an asset from purchase order through receipt and capitalization to tax return.
  • Proficiency with ERP and fixed-asset systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle Fixed Assets, or comparable systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Progress toward or completion of a CPA or CMI (Property Tax) designation.
  • Data center construction or development experience, including exposure to construction-in-progress and construction pay applications.
  • Cost segregation experience or experience supporting asset classification studies.
  • Exposure to state and local incentives and abatement compliance reporting.
  • Exposure to tax technology and automation, and a genuine interest in using AI tooling to shorten compliance cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Manage U.S. property tax compliance across sites and taxing jurisdictions, including filings, assessment reviews, bill processing, payment approvals, accruals, and appeal support.
  • Maintain tax fixed-asset data by reconciling it to the NetSuite asset register and capital forecast, resolving classification and location discrepancies, and preparing information for tax depreciation and property tax reporting.
  • Work with Accounting Operations to understand the fixed-asset lifecycle, from purchase order and receipt through construction-in-progress, capitalization, in-service dating, transfers, disposals, and retirements, and apply that understanding to property tax reporting and tax depreciation.
  • Prepare and update quarterly property tax forecasts, identifying new locations against lien dates and accounting for construction-in-progress and inventory positions.
  • Manage property tax audits and assessment appeals, including assembling requested asset records, preparing valuation and classification support, and communicating directly with assessors and auditors.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with outside property tax advisors, including calendars, reconciled data, deliverable reviews, and fee tracking against scope.
  • Support Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics on tax consequences of asset movement, receipt and use locations, third-party logistics receiving models, exemption certificates, and direct pay permits.
  • Support Data Center Construction and Site Development on self-developed sites, construction-period questions, sales and use tax treatment of construction inputs versus operating equipment, and construction pay application reviews.
  • Partner with Direct Tax to provide fixed-asset inputs for depreciation method analysis, placed-in-service determinations, and tax reporting.
  • Track capital investment and abatement commitments tied to incentive agreements and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Document and improve related processes and controls so they scale with capital expenditure volume.
  • Apply a forward-thinking approach to incorporating AI into everyday tasks and improving owned workflows.
