About The Position

The surgeon-facing nurse/supply chain professional handles OR, implants, Cath Lab, and cardiovascular categories, which are high-dollar and high-resistance clinical areas. This role involves negotiating implant pricing with device representatives, leading Value Analysis presentations to surgeons and physicians for product standardization, and analyzing physician-level utilization variations. The position also includes running product evaluations and clinical trials for device conversions and presenting to various committees such as OR committees, Cath Lab governance, and the Supply Chain Steering Committee. The scope covers Ortho/Spine (Joint implants, spinal hardware, trauma, sports medicine, biologics), Cardiovascular (Stents, valves, pacemakers, leads, CRM devices), Cath Lab/EP/IR (Ablation catheters, diagnostic catheters, peripheral vascular, closure devices), Operating Room (Instruments, custom packs, energy devices, sutures, wound closure, staplers), and Endoscopy (Scopes, accessories, hemostasis devices).

Requirements

  • 5+ years healthcare supply chain or clinical value analysis
  • 3+ years managing PPI categories (implants, devices, surgical)
  • Has engaged surgeons/physicians directly on product changes — must be credible in the OR
  • Track record of delivering quantified savings through product conversions

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate implant pricing with device reps (Stryker, Zimmer, Medtronic, J&J, Abbott, Boston Scientific)
  • Lead Value Analysis presentations to surgeons and physicians on product standardization
  • Analyze physician-level utilization variation (e.g., "Dr. Smith uses 3x more sutures than peers")
  • Run product evaluations and clinical trials for device conversions
  • Present to OR committees, Cath Lab governance, Supply Chain Steering Committee
