Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years or more in Warehouse/Manufacturing/Production Environment preferred
  • 1 year or more in Construction or Carpentry preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work within a diverse work environment
  • Highly thorough and dependable
  • Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision
  • Possesses a high degree of initiative
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8 hour day)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Be a team player
  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Comprehend basic math
  • Operate power equipment in a safe manner
  • Lift and/or push/pull up to 70 lbs
  • Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
  • Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements
  • Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting
  • Follow repair process
  • Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards
  • Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table
  • Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from the pallets
  • Operate a grinder and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together the components
  • Ensure pallets meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
  • Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
  • Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
  • Performs duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
  • Performs other duties as assigned
