About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Team Lead in Fort Worth, Texas. This position offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about. The Warehouse Team Lead will work in the Safest Supply Chain Environment with State of the Art Equipment. Products being handled include pallets. The role requires the ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment, such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks. Various warehouse fulfillment specialist roles at Ryder support distribution across the US.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work within a diverse work environment
• Highly thorough and dependable
• Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
• Performs work independently with minimal supervision
• Possesses a high degree of initiative
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8 hour day)
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Be a team player
• Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
• Comprehend basic math
• Operate power equipment in a safe manner
• Lift and/or push/pull up to 70 lbs
• Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
• Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements
• Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting
• Follow repair process

Nice To Haves

• 3 years or more in Warehouse/Manufacturing/Production Environment preferred
• 1 year or more in Construction or Carpentry preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards
• Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table
• Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from the pallets
• Operate a grinder and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together the components
• Ensure pallets meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
• Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
• Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
• Performs duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Performs other duties as assigned
