About The Position

As Manager, Supplier Risk Management, you will be responsible for supporting Personal and Commercial Banking supplier risk management activities. You will function as the subject matter expert in working with key business partners and centers of governance for overall due diligence activities across RBC PB & CB. You will also be responsible for facilitating third party risk management, due diligence, monitoring, and compliance related activities. The Supplier Risk Management team drives best practices for the management and oversight of supplier relationships globally, including defining roles, relationships, activities, and tools. The portfolio may consist of multiple third party relationships but typically will prioritize Tier 1 and Tier 2 Supplier engagements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ of related supplier management and operations experience
  • Ability to build effective partnerships with stakeholders and third parties
  • Proficiency with Knowledge of, and experience working with various RBC systems/applications (SRF, Sales Platform, IRIS, CACS, On Demand etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of RBC's business and functional units, including banking operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong supplier and relationship management competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Act as a central point of contact for the Business Unit (Supplier Manager), Centers of Governance (CoGs), and Supplier(s)
  • Onboard net new suppliers and/or POCs and complete Supplier Risk Management Assessments (SRMAs)
  • Provide guidance to BU partners regarding the initiation of PARA, Model Risk Review, app code creation, new technology requests, and E-Messaging supplier demos
  • Completing required SaaS Shared Responsibilities Assessment, documenting subcontractor controls and gaps, financial and AML reviews
  • Complete terminations assessments as required for ending or expired engagements
  • Complete performance management questionnaires, service organization control assessments and supplier manager attestations
  • Coordinate the risk treatment approach for IT risk findings during the SRMA risk assessment cycle
  • Support audit and regulatory activities and notify business units of data breaches
  • Provide advice and counsel to business unit partners with respect to supplier risk activities, requirements and timelines
  • Provide Supplier Risk Management education to internal stakeholders related to policy changes and third-party requirements
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement and innovation across the broader OR team and collaborate effectively with business partners and stakeholders
  • Address operational or client experience gaps within processes, policies or procedures, engaging the appropriate policy owners, stakeholders, etc.
  • Acts as a change agent for the team and is fully committed to continuous improvement and its alignment to client and business strategies.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team by sharing ideas and best practices
