The role: We are seeking a Manager, Strategy & Business Operations to help drive strategy, business performance, and execution for SoFi Tech Solutions (STS), one of SoFi’s most important growth businesses. SoFi Tech Solutions powers innovation for financial institutions, fintechs, and brands through a suite of technology platforms spanning processing, banking core and ledgering, payments, and risk and fraud solutions. As STS enters its next phase of growth, this role will help turn strategic priorities into actionable plans, develop insights that inform business decisions, and strengthen the operating mechanisms that enable the organization to execute effectively. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy & Business Operations, the Manager will work closely with the STS leadership team and cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, Operations, Risk, Legal, and Compliance. This person will independently own analyses and defined workstreams across strategic planning, business performance, investment prioritization, and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, investment bank management consulting, fintech, financial services, payments, banking technology, enterprise software, or a related field.
  • Strong structured problem-solving skills and experience conducting market assessments, competitive analyses, business case development, financial modeling, scenario planning, or similar strategic work.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own complex analyses and cross-functional workstreams from problem definition through recommendation or implementation.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to work with imperfect data, identify key drivers, and develop decision-useful insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn ambiguity and complexity into concise recommendations and executive-ready materials.
  • Experience collaborating across complex, matrixed organizations and influencing stakeholders without relying on direct authority.
  • Strong project and process-management skills, with attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • High degree of ownership, judgment, intellectual curiosity, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience within payments, issuer processing, banking infrastructure, core banking, risk, fraud, or financial technology platforms.
  • Experience supporting senior executives or P&L leaders and preparing materials for executive or Board-level audiences.
  • Experience improving planning, performance management, governance, or cross-functional execution processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own analyses that inform growth opportunities, market expansion, product investments, competitive positioning, and other strategic priorities.
  • Develop business cases using market research, financial modeling, scenario planning, and ROI assessment.
  • Synthesize market, client, competitive, and internal data into clear insights and decision-oriented recommendations.
  • Support annual and long-range planning by coordinating inputs and translating strategic decisions into actionable plans.
  • Manage core planning and performance processes, including business reviews, investment prioritization, executive scorecards, KPIs, and dashboards.
  • Analyze business performance to identify the drivers, risks, and opportunities affecting growth, profitability, client outcomes, and operating efficiency.
  • Translate priorities into measurable outcomes, milestones, and accountable owners, and track progress against key commitments.
  • Develop concise materials for leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, Board discussions, and other executive forums.
  • Support executive operating rhythms by facilitating effective decision-making, documenting decisions, and driving follow-through.
  • Lead defined cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through execution, aligning stakeholders, workplans, and expected business outcomes.
  • Identify organizational bottlenecks and improve processes across planning, forecasting, governance, prioritization, and performance management.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to incorporate appropriate governance and controls into strategic initiatives and operating processes.
  • Apply AI and automation to improve research, analysis, communication, decision-making, and operational efficiency across STS.
