The STEP Housing Manager (SHM) works in collaboration with the Director of the Subsidized Tenant Empowerment Program (STEP) to ensure that AFC and The Center for Housing and Health maintain compliance with HOPWA funding regulations. In addition to ensuring compliance with data collection requirements from the Chicago and Illinois Departments of Public Health. The SHM directly supervises a team of five Housing Technicians (HTs) with a combined caseload of 275+ clients. The HTs work in collaboration with clients to develop a rapid re-housing and referral service plan, designed to identify and secure the resources and services necessary to obtain and maintain supportive housing. Successful leadership for this role requires the ability to collaborate with external partners, funders, and other internal teams housing teams at AFC, to identify best practices, develop and maintain a training and technical assistance project, and implement quality management and assurance plans. Areas of focus include programmatic housing occupancy levels, viral suppression, housing stability, and rapid time to housing.
