This role manages daily administration of policies and programs covering departmental recruiting, operational training, safety, and general business operations by providing various administrative support activities. It also manages the daily activities of a support, production, or operations team, setting priorities and coordinating work activities with other supervisors. The Manager, Staff Administration is responsible for managing, evaluating, and providing feedback and guidance to staff, creating and documenting critical customer-facing processes, ensuring compliance with policy, and protecting confidential data. This role also oversees office coverage, inquiry responses, and trains and develops departmental resources. Key responsibilities include managing and supervising the payroll function, advising on payment methods, collaborating with cross-functional teams for accurate and timely hiring and payment, guiding managers on payroll approval processes, and managing departmental recruiting, hiring, and new-hire orientation. The position also carries out University policies and compliance changes, manages departmental input to the annual merit program, monitors the performance evaluation program, and provides day-to-day guidance on HR-related topics in concert with HR Business Partners. Other duties as assigned.
