About The Position

Through development and management of positive relationships with retailers, product supplier sites, certification bodies, and training centers, the Manager will promote the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) and drive adoption of SQFI programs while delivering assigned revenue targets towards profitable growth for the SQFI, a global third-party certification standard.

Requirements

  • At least three to five years of business development, sales, or customer relations experience within the food/consumer products industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, economics, food industry or another related field.
  • Working knowledge of certification, SQFI programs, and food industry sector operations.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the business development and sales process and dynamics to include generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals.
  • Must be a quick learner with strong negotiating skills and the ability to sell the SQFI standard in a compelling way.
  • Must be a strong written and oral communicator who can network within different functions with various levels of leadership and others within our customer base.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 programs including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; knowledge of business analytics tools and CRM information systems (such as Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Strong presentation skills are a must.
  • Self-starter with a high level of intellectual curiosity, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers, FMI employees and other SQFI stakeholders.
  • Must be an organized, self-directed individual with excellent time and project management skills with an ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with strict attention to detail and with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a sales environment responsible for meeting (or exceeding) assigned targets is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Vice President to drive the entire business development and sales process with prospective and existing customers, certification bodies, and other strategic partners to extend SQFI presence into new categories as well as expansion within existing categories and accounts within the North America territory (United States and Canada).
  • Conduct outbound business development engagement with prospective supplier site leads identified via CRM digital marketing strategies.
  • Utilize business intelligence analysis throughout the business development process to cultivate a targeted list of categories, suppliers, and companies and recognize revenue opportunities that drive business development for SQFI solutions.
  • Engage with strategic partners (certification bodies, consultants, training centers, retailers, brand owners) to represent SQFI and facilitate client acquisition for SQFI programs via sales calls and onsite customer visits, supplier meetings, webinars, trade shows, and conferences etc.
  • Prepare and deliver frequent presentations in person and via remote conferencing to strategic partners and suppliers on business development goals and strategies utilizing Microsoft Office 365 or other presentation tools and platforms.
  • Meet quarterly business development and sales targets for SQF training offers and site registration through digital marketing strategies, active sales and promotional outreach to sites, certification bodies, and facilitated by relationship development with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit business development activity and sales reports to management as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team to develop effective business development and marketing materials and digital marketing workflows.
  • Engage with internal SQFI/FMI cross-functional teams (Marketing, Operations, Technical) to generate ideas and manage assigned projects for SQFI business process improvement and new service development.
