About The Position

The Manager, Specialty Brand & Services Initiatives at Ulta Beauty is responsible for managing and leading the day-to-day operations and communications of Ulta Beauty’s services, boutiques, and luxury operations businesses to amplify in-store experiences. Encompassing 10+ renowned brands including Lancôme, Clinique, Benefit, MAC, and Luxury Brands, the Manager, Specialty Brand & Services Initiatives will support the Field Operations team in executing strategies to drive positive sales performance in retail and services. Their leadership will extend to guiding cross-functional projects aimed at improving processes and establishing standard operating procedures to achieve financial and operational excellence and sales goals. This position requires a high aptitude to influence colleagues, peers, and Ulta Beauty’s Leadership team throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a proven history of leading multiple projects simultaneously, and a track record of driving successful results in the retail, operational, or/and service-related industry.

Requirements

  • 5+ years operations, ideally in beauty retail environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage the people and operations strategies for all specialty operations (specialty and luxury brands) and brand extensions in partnership with services leadership, merchants, operations, and human resources team.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with brand partners to exchange information, develop programs and strategies, and identify experiential needs.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management and merchandising teams to drive high-volume brand performance, maximize profitability, and achieve financial objectives.
  • Coordinate with Store Development, Merchandising, Finance, and Human Resources teams to implement solutions optimizing store resources and process efficiencies for major initiatives related to specialty and luxury brands and services.
  • Work closely with field leadership to understand inefficiencies in store services, boutiques and luxury and partners cross-functionally to provide solutions.
  • Attracts, hires, and retains a diverse team of top talent.
  • Trains, coaches, and develop direct report(s) using company tools (e.g., succession planning) providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure their professional development and success within the organization.
  • Identifies and prioritize operational system and process improvement opportunities, re-evaluating on an annual basis, to improve services and boutique operations, build consistency, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the guest experience.
  • Lead execution of complex projects, project schedules, communication and assess reporting for boutique and luxury brands.
  • Work cross-functionally to support the execution of identifying, developing, and implementing the staffing strategy for all specialty brands and services, including but not limited to scheduling, compensation, recruiting, hiring, and training.
  • Responsible for managing and communicating operational details within tests and pilots for services operations & specialty and luxury brands.
  • Manage details of specialty and luxury programs already in place and lead writing programs to be implemented within stores.
  • Partner cross-functionally between corporate and field teams to identify improvements and lead corrective actions for processes.
  • Update and create operational documents on the Ultanet and partner with Enterprise Training for resources in the Learning Management System (LMS) for specialty and luxury brands and services operations.
  • Influence accountability to plan, execute, and achieve objectives aligned with company growth and profit strategies for specialty and luxury brands and services.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance as business manager of Boutiques, Luxury & Services Operations.
  • Liaison between Operations, Merchandising and Education regarding Specialty and Luxury brands.
