About The Position

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to join their team. This role involves leading the Ascend Account Transfers engineering team and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge projects. It's a leadership opportunity focused on vision, influence, and strategic thinking in a fast-paced Agile environment. The position requires a blend of strategic planning, risk management, and hands-on involvement in software development design, architecture, and execution. The Manager will inspire and lead talented software engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation to create a culture of excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience managing technology projects (SaaS, Infrastructure, and/or software development related projects), ideally in a Financial Services (FinTech) and/or Technology firm.
  • 2+ years of experience as a people manager.
  • Proven expertise in Agile Development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in fault-tolerant self-healing system design, high-availability services, and handling high-throughput with real-time data processing.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based (GCP) backend systems and micro-service architecture to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Understanding of security best practices for APIs, backend systems, and infrastructure.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to navigate complexities and deliver effective solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with financial systems, trading and accounting concepts, and compliance within regulated environments to build high-quality and secure solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as product managers and business users to define scope, objectives, and deliverables while managing the engineering team throughout the product life cycle.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and PI Planning, and promote team continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate risks with close attention to detail, proactively addressing issues to avoid delays.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project and engineering updates and reporting, ensuring transparency and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with various funnels to ensure resource availability and prioritization of work.
