Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a talented professional to join the Advanced Space Processing E&S team in Boulder, CO as a Software Engineering Functional Manager Level 1 managing a team of Algorithms/Analysis Engineers and/or Software Engineers.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline preferred from an accredited institution and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; or 1 year of experience with a PhD.
Must be experienced in all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle
Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in collaborating with and leading engineering teams.
Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must.
High proficiency in technical problem solving
Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations
Familiarity with the Missile Defense System
Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time to support business needs.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret clearance at the time of application which is required to start.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in a relevant technical or management specialty
Direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership
Working knowledge of OPIR sensors, with respect to focal plane resolution, sensitivity, and line of sight considerations for the purpose of tracking
Experience in tracking and prediction algorithms
Unix/Linux operating system expertise (RHEL)
Experience with C/C++ software language, development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs)
Agile development experience
