About The Position

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. The Automation Platform and Apps team builds the foundational intelligence and tooling layer that powers coding agents across LinkedIn’s Software Development Lifecycle. We provide the structured context, APIs, guardrails, and execution frameworks that allow agents to understand codebases, reason about system intent, and safely take action within engineering workflows. By unifying code intelligence, dependency graphs, build and test signals, documentation, and policy constraints, we enable agents to operate with high fidelity, reliability, and governance. Our mission is to transform coding agents from isolated assistants into deeply integrated, context-aware collaborators that accelerate development while maintaining quality, security, and compliance at scale.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training
  • 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering
  • Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (like Java/Python/C/C++/Scala/etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience
  • 7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
  • 5+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in SDLC and experience developing tools enhancing developer productivity
  • Strong bias for action using agentic software development tools
  • Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications
  • Understanding of common performance patterns and anti-patterns in distributed systems
  • Successful track record of managing small teams of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality
  • Active involvement in the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps
  • Hire and retain world-class engineers by providing career growth, mentoring, and high impact projects, while taking intelligent risks to improve the way work is done

Responsibilities

  • Manage the performance and career development of a small team of engineers.
  • Own significant parts of LinkedIn Developer productivity products that require design, architecture, and coding.
  • Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology roadmap.
  • Be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.
  • Work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.
  • Develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.
  • Produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
