Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• five (5) years of experience designing and implementing microservices-based systems
• three (3) years include designing RESTful APIs
• developing distributed systems
• using Git for version control
• developing software and web applications using XML, JSON, HTML, CSS and PostgresSQL
• two (2) years include developing software using Golang or equivalent systems languages
• leveraging Goroutines and Channels in Golang, or equivalent multi-threading techniques in other systems languages
• one (1) year includes creating and managing containerized applications using Docker
• deploying and scaling microservices using Kubernetes

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Software Development Engineers in the planning and designing of software and web applications using Golang
• design and implement microservices-based systems
• leverage Goroutines and Channels in Golang
• design RESTful APIs
• develop distributed systems
• use Git for version control
• develop software and web applications using XML, JSON, HTML, CSS and PostgresSQL
• create and manage containerized applications using Docker
• deploy and scale microservices using Kubernetes
• manage projects from design to testing, including new programs, enhancements and modifications
• collaborate with Quality Assurance team to conduct testing
• develop and administer performance standards for organizational unit
• manage a team which may include exempt and non-exempt employees
• provide subject matter guidance to employees as required
• develop processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies and assist in the development and meeting of departmental budget
• provide guidance to Software Engineering team and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements
• serve as primary point of contact and liaison between Software Engineering and other teams
• direct implementation initiatives for new software products and applications
• organize software update process for existing applications and coordinate the roll-out of software releases
• manage all the deliverables to ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications and budgets
• implement performance metrics and prepare periodic reports
• monitor and track project progress and report findings to leadership team
• ensure all engineers keep current with technological developments within the industry
• monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products
• develop proposals, hardware/software changes and other capital expenditure projects
• manage professional and non-exempt employees, conduct work performance reviews, and ensure work performance is adhering to company standards
• guide and mentor junior-level engineers
