About The Position

State Street Bank And Trust Company is seeking a Senior Data Developer and Architect in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is responsible for analyzing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging, reviewing, and deploying all data components, including data architecture, logical and physical data models, database objects, and database administration. The position supports multiple client-facing Securities Finance Front Office Project and Data delivery initiatives. Key responsibilities include providing technical expertise in analysis, design, estimation, and development; reviewing processing requirements such as data and transaction volumes, scalability, security, and performance; offering technical subject matter expertise for resolving complex issues; managing the resolution, communication, and escalation of critical technical issues; preparing user and system documentation; identifying and recommending industry best practices; designing and developing with minimal requirements by coordinating with business analysts, scrum leads, developers, and managers; and providing agile status updates. Part-time telecommuting is permitted per company policy.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related technical field plus 5 years' experience as a Software Senior Data Engineer Developer or any occupation/title providing relevant work experience.
  • Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related technical field plus 7 years as a Software Senior Data Engineer Developer any occupation/title providing relevant work experience.
  • Exposure to design and development on Oracle or other database management systems.
  • Exposure to Oracle data model design for high critical OLTP applications.
  • Performance tuning & monitoring using OEM & custom shell scripts.
  • Solid ability with Oracle Capacity planning & resource management.
  • Solid ability with Exadata appliance.
  • Proven understanding of Goldengate configuration and support.
  • SQL, Stored Procedures, and usage of IBM DB2 related tools & utilities.
  • Proven end-to-end understanding of software architecture, design, development, and implementation.
  • Scrum, Agile modeling and adaptive software development.
  • Proven ability to apply knowledge and skills to a range of standard and moderately complex activities.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing technology documents including user guides.

Responsibilities
