About The Position

Leads the Segmentation and Modeling function within Commercial Advanced Data Analytics. Manages a team that develops, validates, and activates guest and audience segmentation, predictive, and causal models that improve commercial decision-making, guest relevance, and business performance. Owns the functional roadmap and translates business priorities into scalable analytics products and measurable use cases across marketing and guest touchpoints. Partners with Marketing, Sales, Digital Product, Guest and Journey Analytics, and Technology teams to integrate model outputs into planning, activation, personalization, and measurement. Communicates methods, insights, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and executive audiences. This is role that balances people leadership and portfolio ownership with hands-on technical guidance, quality review, and problem solving. The Manager establishes standards for reproducible analysis, model performance, documentation, and responsible use of data.

Requirements

  • Ability to translate commercial priorities into a segmentation and modeling roadmap with clear decisions, deliverables, and measures of value.
  • Deep knowledge of segmentation, clustering, propensity and response modeling, look-alike modeling, recommendation or next-best-action methods, and model evaluation.
  • Experience applying predictive and causal methods to guest, customer, audience, marketing, or digital-product use cases.
  • Experience moving analytical solutions from exploration through implementation, adoption, performance monitoring, and refinement.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or R and SQL; working knowledge of cloud analytics platforms, scalable data processing, and production model workflows.
  • Experience with experimental design, measurement, and the interpretation of model lift, bias, stability, and business impact.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts through clear visual, written, and verbal narratives for technical, business, and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple initiatives, manage priorities and dependencies, establish quality standards, and deliver through others.
  • Demonstrated people leadership, including coaching, feedback, performance management, and career development.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership and influence skills, with the ability to build alignment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for guest and audience segmentation, propensity, response, look-alike, next-best-action, and related predictive and causal modeling capabilities.
  • Translate commercial questions into analytical hypotheses, model designs, decision rules, and measurable success criteria.
  • Establish reusable segmentation frameworks and model outputs that support planning, targeting, personalization, and guest-experience decisions across known, identified, and anonymous audiences.
  • Evaluate model performance and business impact through validation, testing, lift measurement, stability analysis, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Provide technical direction and final quality review for modeling methodology, assumptions, interpretation, and recommendations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of data scientists; set goals, clarify accountability, recognize performance, and support career development.
  • Prioritize the portfolio, assign resources, manage dependencies and risks, and maintain realistic delivery plans across concurrent initiatives.
  • Conduct regular planning and performance reviews to align team objectives with broader commercial priorities.
  • Build a culture of technical rigor, curiosity, collaboration, peer review, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead development standards for reproducible model pipelines, feature engineering, scoring workflows, documentation, and analytical code.
  • Partner with Technology and data teams to define data, integration, platform, and deployment requirements for reliable production use.
  • Identify platform and process enhancements that improve scale, speed, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure analytical solutions are maintainable, auditable, and supported by clear ownership and operating procedures.
  • Engage business partners to frame opportunities, define decisions to be improved, and agree on deliverables, adoption plans, and success measures.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Audience Strategy, Guest and Journey Analytics, Digital Product, and Technology teams to embed analytical outputs in business workflows.
  • Translate complex methodologies and results into clear business implications, recommended actions, and expected value.
  • Build stakeholder understanding of segmentation and modeling capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
