About The Position

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Manager, Revenue Cycle Analytics to partner closely with directors and assistant vice presidents across the Revenue Cycle organization to identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve operational performance, and strengthen data-driven decision-making. Collaborating with the Director of Automation Analytics Quality, the manager will translate business needs into actionable insights, process improvements, and opportunities for automation while expanding transparency into key performance metrics. Exceptional communication skills are essential to this role. The manager must listen effectively, absorb complex information quickly, ask insightful questions, and communicate clearly with both operational and technical audiences. Success requires building trusted relationships, aligning stakeholders on priorities and deliverables, and turning information into recommendations and measurable results. The manager will lead and develop three direct reports, oversee multiple Power BI and Tableau workspaces, and drive efficiency through AI adoption and the management of AI workflows and agentic processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree With an emphasis in finance, data analytics or accounting.
  • 5 years of healthcare financial management experience with revenue cycle operations
  • Must have progressive supervisory/management experience with extensive knowledge of Patient Financial systems and processes
  • In depth knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle, payer contracts and applicable rules and regulations affecting reimbursement for healthcare services, strong understanding of scheduling, registration, charging, billing and collections.
  • Working fluency in SQL, data structures, data pipelines, data storage and cloud concepts, AI, agentic processes, and business intelligence tools, including Power BI and Tableau.
  • Familiarity with front-end, middle, and back-end revenue cycle operations, operational metrics, and reimbursement terminology is also essential.
  • Compassionate, highly efficient leader with strong time management, a commitment to continuous process improvement, and an active interest in emerging technologies.
  • Must reside in Texas.

  • Meets or exceeds financial goals and objectives of the department.
  • Maintains an assortment of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports used to monitor Revenue Cycle performance.
  • Supports review and analysis of daily/weekly/monthly reporting revenue cycle reporting reports to identify positive and negative trends affecting revenue cycle outcomes and operations.
  • Assists in creating and monitoring models that link strategies to measures of performance (financial and non-financial).
  • Oversee development and analysis of denial management reports to identify operational areas for improvement. Evaluates denied claim trends. Alerts management of changes in the number and type of denied claims received.
  • Develops new reports to assist in Revenue Cycle strategic decisions and improve efficiency.
  • Works with the contracting group and IR to QA build and implementation of all managed care contracts and fee schedules in Epic.
  • Oversee analysis of routine reports to evaluate managed care contracts and conducts audits on products to monitor reimbursement and repricing changes.
  • Partner with business directors and managers to review targeted areas and identify root cause in problem areas including but not limited to WQ volume, charge trending, RVU trending, charge lag and charge reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with business directors and managers to review productivity and work queue volumes.
  • Coordinate and schedule routine meetings with department managers to review key revenue cycle reports specific to their areas.
  • Partner with MSRDP Finance Department, HB decision support and IR to develop new reports as needed for operations.
  • Utilize third party tools to trend UTSW performance against industry standards and identify target areas for improvement.
  • Serve as a resource to managers and directors regarding data needs.
  • Oversee utilization and management of HB and PB dashboards in partnership with IR.
  • Provide training as needed to managers and directors on reporting capabilities in Epic, third parties and other internal reporting resources.
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality at all times due to access to sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
