About The Position

The Manager, Revenue Accounting is an analytical, detail-oriented accounting leader responsible for the revenue cycle, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and improving operational efficiency across billing, cash reconciliation, and close activities. The role collaborates with Product, Sales, Analytics, and Finance teams to streamline financial workflows, strengthen internal controls, and scale financial systems. It also includes coaching and guiding direct reports. The position manages revenue accounting and reporting under US GAAP, supports audits, performs technical accounting research, and provides monthly financial analysis to senior leadership. Housecall Pro describes its team as focused on helping home service professionals succeed. The role is open to candidates, and the expected salary range is $110,000–$140,000 plus equity.

Requirements

At least 6 years of progressive accounting experience focused on revenue accounting, ASC 606, and subscription or SaaS business models.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
CPA license required.
Proven experience improving team efficiency or output quality through strategic use of AI tools and automation.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and hands-on experience managing monthly revenue close workflows.
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and billing platforms, such as NetSuite and Stripey.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Experience managing a team.

Responsibilities

Manage the monthly revenue close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
Manage accounting for revenue transactions under ASC 606.
Lead and mentor direct reports, supporting their professional growth and setting clear performance expectations.
Reconcile revenue, deferred revenue, and customer cash collection balances; identify and resolve variances.
Partner with Sales Operations, Billing, Engineering, and Product to review contract terms and support new product launches.
Support annual external audits by preparing reconciliations and auditor documentation.
Evaluate and improve revenue accounting systems, automated workflows, and billing procedures to support scalability.
Maintain and enhance revenue-cycle internal controls and documentation to ensure compliance.
Prepare monthly revenue flux analyses and provide actionable financial insights to senior leadership.
Conduct technical revenue accounting research and document conclusions for non-standard customer contracts.
