About The Position

Responsible for the total business operations of retail pharmacy. Plans, coordinates, and directs all activities for the provision of ambulatory pharmacy services accessed through the retail sites. Supervises and schedules all pharmacy personnel, and is responsible for the appearance and profitability of the business. Develops and maintains appropriate controls and security of drugs and narcotics. Responsible for compliance with 340B program documentation and utilization requirements. Responsible for adherence to all federal and state regulations related to the practice of pharmacy. Demonstrates understanding of Orlando Health structure, organization, Human Resources policies, procedures, and guidelines in order to facilitate the relationship between Orlando Health and its team members. Is instrumental in setting direction and developing a vision with an accompanying strategy necessary for achieving that vision at assigned sites. Determines the qualifications and competence of personnel and sufficient staffing to adequately provide care/service. Develops relevant standards of care and performance for all staff. Develops effective and efficient means of documenting care and measuring performance through predetermined and meaningful outcomes (e.g. patient satisfaction, clinical function, and economic). Coordinates the improvement of the quality of care and services provided. Coordinates the professional growth and development programs for all staff members, including continuing education and training needed to maintain and improve the required levels of knowledge and skills to perform their jobs. Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Establishes and maintains an open communication process throughout the corporation and reaches patients, visitors, families, physicians, and team members such that each feels they receive special treatment each time they encounter Orlando Health. Performs other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree (Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy) is required.
  • Must be licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy renewed every two years.
  • Five (5) years as a Retail Pharmacist, or three (3) years in retail pharmacy management or supervisory experience.
  • Must command thorough knowledge of business management and pharmacy laws.
