About The Position

Coordinates the activities, supervisor’s tasks, Budget , education in services, and general management of a department to meet patient needs and maintain the highest standard of proficiency for staff; achieves efficient utilization of staff and equipment and maintains good rapport with all employees. The manager is capable of performing all tasks designated to departmental staff members. Performs according to the Hospital’s standards for Customer Service. Supports and adheres to the Hospital’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements and performs according to the Hospital’s standards for Patient Safety and Customer Service. Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluating, and terminating assigned staff according to hospital policies and procedures. Performs other special projects and duties as assigned. This is a Monday - Friday days position.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of critical care respiratory therapy experience
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s of Science in a related field
  • Current NYS respiratory therapy licensure (or willingness to obtain)
  • BCLS certification required
  • RRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with change-management
  • Experience with quality metrics and web-based reporting applications
  • Acute care respiratory therapy experience in Pedatrics and NICU
