About The Position

Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Compliance, you will lead Regulatory Compliance for our North American business. Your primary mission is to maintain our "license to operate" across the Americas, ensuring we meet the rigorous demands of state-level Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs) and specialised Gaming licenses. You will act as the Regulatory Compliance lead for our MALPB (Merchant Acquiring Limited Purpose Bank) entity, ensuring that governance, reporting, and regulatory engagements are executed to the highest standard. This role requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to manage a high volume of recurring filings across states.

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years in Regulatory Ops or Compliance , with deep experience in the US MSB/MTL space.
  • Hands-on experience with NMLS and a proven track record of managing multi-state license renewals and Gaming board requirements.
  • Exceptional ability to manage high-volume, recurring deadlines. You should be comfortable managing a "compliance calendar" that involves hundreds of filings per year.
  • Experience supporting entity-level governance and board-level reporting in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Ability to leverage automation (JIRA/Confluence) to manage the massive data requirements of 50-state reporting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarise regulatory developments.
  • Proactive, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor legislative changes at both the federal (FinCEN, FINTRAC) and state levels. Assess how new bills (e.g. updates to the Uniform Money Services Act) impact our business, and project manage change, as required.
  • Oversee the timely submission of MSB Call Reports and state-specific quarterly/annual filings.
  • Own the end-to-end renewal process for Checkout.com US State Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs) and specialised Gaming licenses.
  • Act as the primary administrator for the NMLS (Nationwide Multistate Licensing System), ensuring all company records, biographical updates, and financial disclosures are current.
  • Lead the Gaming license maintenance required by state gaming boards.
  • Ensure compliance with our Global Entity Governance framework. Track regulatory commitments, and ensure the entity remains in good standing with all oversight bodies.
  • Lead the "war room" for state-level regulatory examinations. Coordinate document production, manage examiner queries, and oversee the implementation of any Management Action Plans (MAPs).
  • Provide project management support for regulatory, licensing, and internal change initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across Compliance, Risk, Legal, Finance, and Operations to gather information and track deliverables.
  • Prepare materials and updates for internal governance forums and senior stakeholders.
