About The Position

Administers, oversees, and implements all aspects (activities, programs, and events) of the daily operation of their assigned facility.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor's degree in recreation management or recreation field. Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four (4) years of experience in recreation programming.
• Three (3) years of experience in recreation or public contact work including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Organizational ability to plan, formulate and execute policies and programs; ability to maintain harmony among workers and patrons; communicate effectively; and flexibility to adapt to changing conditions.
• Valid state driver's license at employment

Responsibilities

• Manages large community, neighborhood, or other recreation center.
• Directs activities of assigned workers.
• Provides patrons with technical instruction and guidance in various arts, crafts, games, and other group activities.
• Maintains order and discipline.
• Initiates requests for recreation and athletic games and equipment, and for maintenance and repair work required to maintain recreational and athletic equipment.
• May be required to maintain time and work records and to submit various reports.
• Supervises subordinates in performing their duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
