About The Position

The Ready Plant Manager manages an assigned territory of the ready mix organization. The role includes supervising drivers, coordinating driver and plant personnel schedules with dispatch, coordinating job sites, managing plant operations, and overseeing raw materials. The manager supervises hourly employees, maintains plant safety, environmental compliance, and housekeeping, controls costs while maintaining product quality, manages inventory, and oversees plant equipment maintenance and repairs.

Requirements

• Three years of experience performing varied responsibilities related to plant production.
• Must be able to climb conveyor belts for maintenance.
• Must be D.O.T. certified to manufacture concrete and concrete products.
• Proficiency using a computer and Microsoft Office applications.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations.
• Must be willing to relocate domestically.
• High school degree or equivalent; some technical, vocational, or other education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise hourly employees, exercising discretion and judgment in hiring, directing, training, counseling, and disciplining employees, including suspension or discharge when warranted.
• Conduct performance reviews for hourly employees.
• Maintain plant housekeeping and comply with company, state, and local environmental and safety requirements.
• Control and minimize plant costs while providing a consistent quality product.
• Measure raw material inventories and order and maintain sufficient inventory for ongoing batch plant operations.
• Operate the automated batch plant, including the Ginco batch interface, and optimize control parameters to maintain accurate material inventories.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair equipment as needed.
• Supervise drivers and coordinate driver and plant personnel scheduling with dispatch.
• Coordinate job sites and manage plant operations and raw materials.
