About The Position

Manages the Radiologic Technology Education Programs sponsored by West Virginia University Hospitals in accordance with institutional mission and accreditation standards in order to graduate professionally and clinically competent individuals skilled in the Radiologic Sciences. Concurrently serves as the Education Program Coordinator for the twenty-three month education program in Radiography with direct administrative and instructional responsibilities. Responsible for the fiscal administration of the Education cost center and cross-programmatic coordination of policy and procedure. Serves as the Financial Aid Administrator for all WVUH sponsored programs. Serves as an adjunct faculty at Pierpont Community and Technical College in support of the WVUH/ Pierpont affiliation.

Requirements

Master’s degree in education, Radiologic Sciences, or related field.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography.
Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided: WV: Radiography License through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners
Three (3) years’ experience in the Radiologic Technology discipline.
Two (2) years’ experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program.

Responsibilities

Administers the clinical and didactic components of the Radiography program to assure accreditation and institutional compliance.
Actively participates in the marketing and recruitment process while representing the institution in a professional and positive fashion.
Integrates all Radiologic Technology programs through continuous and open communication with the education and clinical coordinators with respect to operational, administrative, and instructional policies and procedures.
Demonstrates ability to manage organizational change by supporting change initiatives and involving staff in the process
Counsels and advises students on a minimum quarterly basis with respect to clinical and professional performance. Utilizes assessment mechanisms to identify potential clinical difficulties requiring remedial education or tutorial support.
Directs students with special concerns to the respective support agencies provided by the institution or external organizations.
Directly manages the full-time education faculty and several part-time clinical and didactic instructors. Assures that all academic and professional qualification are met and maintained.
Actively participates, as directed, in assuming management responsibility of department operations through proactive involvement and communication with staff and administration.
Maintains and develops the Radiography program in accordance with the standards set forth by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
Develops and advises on didactic and clinical instruction methodologies and curriculum in an effort to maintain quality and consistency with current technical requirements and practices.
Provides didactic instruction in radiologic technology as required by current course offerings, curriculum changes, and professional standards.
Maintains and develops a comprehensive master plan and other documentation which identifies and supports the program’s mission.Maintains student records as mandated by federal and state statutes.
Manages and develops the budget for the Radiology Education cost center with regards to materials and human resource allocation while supporting the organization's current financial initiatives.
Serves as bursar for the Radiologic Technology Education Programs with respect to tuition accounting, collection and administration.
Serves as Financial Aid Administrator for the Radiologic Technology Education Programs responsible for processing, distribution, and accounting of USDE student aid programs while providing financial guidance and counseling to students.
Develops and implements a comprehensive assessment plan for evaluation of the Radiation Therapy program as mandated by the JRCERT and in reference to established department criteria.
Participates in departmental and organizational meetings, task forces, projects, and committees, as directed, in an effort to contribute to the attainment of established goals and objectives.
Participates in the development of in-house educational offering utilizing instructional skill and knowledge to enhance delivery and assess need.
Actively participates in professional development activities such as periodic attendance at professional society meetings, preparation and delivery of educational lectures, and self-directed academic pursuits.
Serves as an adjunct instructor and liaison between WVUH and Pierpont Community and Technical College in support of the Associate’s degree affiliation.
