About The Position

The Manager, Quality Assurance (QA), Global AML - US leads and contributes to the effectiveness of the Bank's Global AML Program by performing and overseeing independent quality assurance reviews across AML Alert, Case Investigations, Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) decisioning, Sanctions Reviews, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) activities. The role is responsible for assessing adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and investigative standards while identifying quality deficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement. The Manager, QA supports consistent, high-quality risk management practices through objective review, constructive challenge, detailed analysis of financial crime investigations and risk assessments, and oversight of quality assurance governance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Law, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically, 5+ years of experience in AML, sanctions, EDD, quality assurance, compliance testing, or financial crime risk management, including experience leading quality assurance programs, governance initiatives, reporting, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/ATF, sanctions, and financial crime regulatory requirements, risk management principles, and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate findings, trends, recommendations, and emerging risks to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reviewing client information and identifying financial crime risk indicators preferred.
  • Working knowledge of transaction monitoring systems, alert workflows, management reporting, and related financial crime technologies preferred.
  • Familiarity with scenario tuning, threshold optimization, and data sourcing concepts preferred.
  • Experience with Excel and data analysis or visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Python) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent QA reviews of AML alerts and cases, SAR recommendations, sanctions reviews, and EDD assessments.
  • Assess the quality, completeness, accuracy, and consistency of investigations, risk assessments, supporting documentation, and disposition decisions.
  • Verify conclusions are evidence-based and comply with AML, sanctions, financial crime, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate whether material financial crime risk indicators and customer risk factors have been appropriately identified, assessed, and escalated.
  • Identify, document, and escalate quality deficiencies, documentation gaps, control weaknesses, emerging risks, and repeat findings.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and auditable QA documentation, including findings, recommendations, review outcomes, and supporting rationale.
  • Maintain records and support QA reporting, trend analysis, audits, independent testing, and regulatory examinations.
  • Develop, produce, and present QA management reporting, metrics, trend analysis, KPIs, and KRIs to support senior management oversight, governance committees, audits, and regulatory examinations.
  • Maintain and oversee the governance framework for FIU, U.S. Sanctions, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), including policies, procedures, methodologies, and related documentation, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, enterprise standards, and evolving financial crime risks.
  • Lead QA issue management and continuous improvement activities, including tracking findings, monitoring remediation efforts, analyzing recurring themes and root causes, communicating lessons learned through targeted training and awareness initiatives, and driving enhancements to investigative quality, controls, and program effectiveness.
  • Provide feedback, track remediation activities, and identify opportunities to strengthen investigative quality, controls, and QA methodologies.
  • Support regulatory reviews and maintain awareness of applicable AML/ATF, sanctions, and financial crime requirements and emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, AML Operations, Sanctions, EDD, AML Advisory, and Business lines to promote consistent quality standards, effective challenge, and continuous improvement.
