About The Position

As the CI and Quality Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer support, to identify and resolve technical issues, implement design improvements, and support product enhancements. Your role will be critical in maintaining and improving the quality and performance of our products in the market, as well as providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders. SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. We are opening a new campus facility that will have two of our businesses (Marley and Ingenia Technologies) evolving and growing together at SPX's very first campus.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years leading CI initiatives and Quality

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years Lean Experience
  • 3+ years in Quality Assurance
  • Experienced in lean transformation.
  • Change Management must be part of the total experience.
  • Experience in multiple functional groups (leadership level preferred)
  • Experience leading Managing for Daily Improvement
  • Prior experience leading/participating in Kaizen Events
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees, from plant leadership to production employees
  • Leadership through teamwork as a motivational leader. Demonstrate teamworkabilities, as well as persistence when dealing with problems
  • Project management skills with prior experience successfully leading and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of operational processes, including production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and quality control
  • Must have Strong computer skills with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications. Able to develop summary graphs, tables, pivot tables, and other reports using PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Responsibilities

  • Continuously refine knowledge of lean manufacturing and deploy in all facets of the facility for improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction
  • Utilize Value Stream Mapping processes throughout the organization
  • Implement CI principles and methodologies to streamline processes and reduce waste
  • Identify and deliver projects to drive CI in the business (Just Do It’s, Kaizen, and Projects) supporting Tier meetings and overall Leadership System; champion employee “ideas” system
  • Keep safety and quality as primary concerns during planning and implementation phases of improvement activities
  • Identify potential risks associated with process changes and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Identify “Critical to Quality” attributes for end products, assemblies, and components; ensure appropriate quality validation techniques are implemented.
  • Lead Annual CI Program to align to SPX Business System in a manner which delivers the AOP (annual operating plan)
  • Lead Kaizen Events: Pre-Work, Launch, Execute, and Follow Up Action
  • Coach, motivate, and lead the teams to institute methods for sustaining the gains of each activity
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and performance metrics and utilize data to guide decision making
  • Help develop and implement key performance metrics to monitor and measure the success of improvement projects
  • Foster and coach the SPX Business System (CI)
  • Teach and promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts to create a culture of continuous improvement within the facility
  • Participate in Centers of Excellence to Share Best Practices and Continuously Improve the SPX Business System (CI Program)
  • Effectively communicate changes, set expectations, partner, and ensure alignment with cross functional teams
  • Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization
  • Establish, implement, and maintain quality control systems manufacturing, products, or services.
  • Oversee inspection activities, monitor production processes for defects, and make final decisions on product acceptance or rejection
  • Analyze production data, conduct statistical analysis (e.g., SPC), and report on quality metrics to senior management.
  • Manage supplier compliance, reviewing raw materials to ensure they meet requirements.
  • Train employees on quality procedures.
