About The Position

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the day to day purchasing activities for a specific location. The position will work with various departments to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained for current/future production needs, along with performing month end accounting entries and reconciliations. The Purchasing Manager is also responsible for providing oversight to the purchasing team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field
  • 5 years of purchasing experience or 9 years of progressively responsible purchasing experience
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Project management experience
  • Strong analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Poultry and/or plant experience
  • Previous Supervisory/Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process orders for packaging and ingredients needed for the plant, based on production schedule.
  • Process and maintain purchase orders from submitted maintenance and plant requisitions.
  • Perform month end inventory closing with accounting and investigate any material variances.
  • Work with corporate purchasing to ensure the plant is conforming to contracts set in place.
  • Responsible for keeping department audit ready.
  • Make sure paperwork is up to date and all vendors are following required programs.
  • Work closely with warehouse/receiving departments to ensure supplies arrive when needed.
  • Provide oversight to purchasing team members.
