As a farmer-founded and community-focused business, Geronimo Power equips landowners and rural communities with sustainable revenue to ignite local economic growth. The Marketing & Communications team at Geronimo Power is seeking a Public Relations Manager to lead our media relations strategy and execution. We are seeking an experienced, strategic and creative individual to lead our internal and external communications efforts. The Public Relations Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining a positive public image, managing media relations and mitigating reputational risk. The ideal candidate has excellent verbal and written communications, is highly organized and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of multi channel public relations experience
  • Proven ability to organize and manage several projects at various stages simultaneously
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in using programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. At times with little to no notice.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive PR and media relations strategy that supports company goals
  • Identify and secure proactive earned and paid media opportunities in national, trade and regional outlets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national, trade and regional outlets
  • Draft and manage press materials including press releases, media advisories, talking points, FAQs, and background materials
  • Serve as a key communications partner on sensitive issues, including community opposition, regulatory matters, siting concerns, and infrastructure‑related scrutiny.
  • Monitor and track media coverage, sentiment, and impact; provide regular reporting and insights to internal team(s)
  • Prepare executives and subject‑matter experts for interviews, panels, and media engagements.
  • Support executive thought leadership through op‑eds, bylined articles, conference visibility, and strategic speaking opportunities.
  • Align executive messaging with corporate positioning, business priorities, and policy or market developments.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the organization to ensure consistent messaging on all channels
  • Lead internal and external communications strategy, working with communications associate to execute
