About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure Planning & Delivery, the Manager, Projects is responsible for leading a high-performing team of project professionals and ensuring the consistent, safe, and effective delivery of infrastructure projects. With major programs increasingly supported by the Enterprise Program Office (EPO), this role is focused on team leadership, delivery consistency, and operational execution of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. The Manager plays a critical role in maintaining team engagement, providing clarity and direction, and ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with organizational priorities and standards.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in project delivery within infrastructure, construction, or a comparable complex operational environment
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing teams
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and quality outcomes
  • Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments (e.g., public sector, regulated environments, or 24/7 operations)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Strong working knowledge of project management principles, tools, and practices
  • Experience with capital project delivery in infrastructure, facilities, or engineering environments, with ability to implement or improve project processes or standards
  • Ability to interpret technical documents such as contracts and drawings (depth can vary — not intended to be the primary technical expert)
  • Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and pass a clean criminal record check as conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input to Infrastructure plans and direction, ensuring a clear understanding and alignment with Edmonton Airports’ strategy across the project delivery team
  • Enable effective working relationships and coordination between Infrastructure, Operations, the Enterprise Program Office, and other internal stakeholders
  • Develop, implement, and review a stratum-appropriate (3–12 month) business and delivery plan aligned with Infrastructure priorities, including operational and resource planning
  • Identify and manage budget requirements to support the delivery of infrastructure projects
  • Lead, coach, and develop a strong team of project professionals, including recruitment, retention, and capability development
  • Oversee for the delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, on time, on budget, and to required quality standards
  • Ensure effective resource allocation across projects, balancing workload and priorities to optimize team performance and delivery outcomes
  • Establish and maintain consistent project delivery practices, processes, and standards, ensuring compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation expectations
  • Act as the primary escalation point for project delivery issues, supporting timely resolution and removing barriers to execution
  • Provide project management expertise and practical guidance to team members and internal partners
  • Support a safe work environment and ensure adherence to safety policies across all project activities.
